Oh, the lentils trick is ancient in the Latin America Survival Kit. But, I gotta say, one of the major contributors for me saving a lot of money in recent years has been: fasting. Kinda obvious that the best way to save money on food is by not eating at all, but, man, there's a whole lot to overcome until you realize that we actually just eat too much nowadays, in many countries/regions. Also, fasting is pretty good for longevity, so it's a win-win 😁😁

That’s interesting that you mention fasting! I’ve been “intermittent fasting” by not snacking after dinner — which I really don’t need to do in the first place lol — and I was recently thinking that a fringe benefit was saving money. 😅

Right? hahaha

I've also started small, progressed to only 1 meal a day, and currently I skip a full day once in a week.

This days I was doing the math with a friend: from 3 meals every day, so 21 meals/week, to just 6 meals/week:IT'S A FRIGGIN 70% REDUCTION. 🤯

Considering the recent trend on longevity science (and my personal experience so far) telling us that this is a healthy habit: How much calories, money AND time are we wasting on bad habits??

I totally challenged myself too! Use food from the freezer and pantry. It has gone so far!

It's amazing! I go to the grocery store, then I come home and can't fit the stuff in my cabinets. I'm like, "what's wrong with this picture??"
